FOREST LAKURI

FOODFOREST LAKURI /BOJENI - NEPAL

Lakuri Bhanjyang - Bojeni is located 25km from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, at an altitude of 2100 meter above sea level. At the Bojeni site The Green Intelligence implemented the foodforest module, with a 20X20 meters a four layered approach which included: 1. Herbs; 2. Shrubs; 3. Small trees; 4. Large trees. In total 13 different species are planted in the various layers of the forest, all having a specific value to the forest. This mix of shrubs and trees is carefully selected after screening the site in terms of soil quality, biodiversity, water availability and potential productivity. This specific mix was verified with local partners, like Permaculture experts from Hasera, and Dutch experts. Below is an overview of the different species.
