PROJECT TYPES
The Green intelligence applies a variation of approaches, having a mix of interventions like soil enrichment, (agro)forestry training and plantation trees - aims to increase biodiversity, carbon fixation and additional income generation for local communities with high value products.
AGROFORESTRY
The agroforestry solution focuses on smallholder farmers with private lands -covering about 28% of Nepal and a large share of Kenya’s farmland. In both countries, smallholders face challenges such as declining productivity and changing weather patterns that threaten land resilience.
Our approach enables farmers to transition from monocropping to agroforestry, creating more diverse, productive, and climate-resilient farms that enhance both livelihoods and ecosystem health.
COMMUNITY FORESTS
A community forests is state owned and
community led, covering 14% of Nepal. These forests are managed by communities that can benefit from the forest by harvesting wood and other produce. Key challenges faced by these forest include land degradation and reduced productivity of the
forests.
Our approach addresses both issues allowing nature and the communities
to directly benefit from the forests.
Target 2026
The Green Intelligence aims to restore 200 hectares in Kenya in 2026 and more then 600 hectares in Nepal. Making use of a mix of interventions, combining the implementation of agro-forestry and community forest practices. The project targets:
